No Matter What You Are Feeling, Ruppert Law Firm Can Guide You

Protection From Abuse

It’s terrifying when an intimate partner goes from being a safe haven in the storm to the storm itself. One in four women and one in seven men will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime. One in fifteen children is exposed to intimate partner violence. If you are one of those women or men or trying to protect one of those children, it is critical to get help as soon as possible.

A PFA, or Protection from Abuse, order can be obtained against a spouse, intimate partner, or anyone related to you by blood or marriage. Commonly known as a restraining order, it prevents the alleged abuser from contacting or stalking you or entering your home. A Protection from Intimidation order is filed to protect a child aged 18 or younger from an adult who is harassing them. A Sexual Violence Protection Order is filed against a sexual assaulter who is a stranger, acquaintance or co-worker. We at Ruppert Law Firm are well-versed in all three and can help get you assistance as quickly as possible no matter what your situation.

Unfortunately, sometimes a Protection from Abuse order is filed when no abuse has occurred. If someone has filed a PFA against you, you must obey the rules of the order while protecting yourself from malicious slander.
